Court to Host Monthly Attorney's Oath Ceremonies
Ceremonies will occur the last Tuesday of each month for new attorneys seeking to fulfill oath requirement
Oakland, Calif. – January 21, 2026 – The Superior Court of Alameda County will host monthly Attorney’s Oath Ceremonies for those seeking to fulfill their oath requirement after successfully passing the California State Bar Exam.
Attorney Oath Ceremonies will take place on the last Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. in Department 1 of the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse in Oakland (1225 Fallon Street).
Presiding Judge Michael Markman will administer the oath and welcome new attorneys into the legal profession.
The monthly ceremonies are being conducted after the Court successfully hosted its first Attorney’s Oath Ceremony last month. The ceremonies help new attorneys meet their oath requirement pursuant to California Business and Professions Code section 6067.
Those wishing to participate as asked to contact the Court via email at excutiveoffice@alameda.courts.ca.gov or phone at 510-891-6012 at least two days prior to the ceremony they wish to attend. In addition, those taking the oath must ensure they bring their completed and signed State Bar oath card. (Digital versions of the oath card cannot be accepted).
