Drug Court
These courts accept people with misdemeanors or felonies, pre- or post-plea.
Charges do not have to be drug-related. These courts help people address problematic health issues and achieve legal relief.
Referral Instructions
Felonies:
To refer your client, request a date in Felony Treatment Court on Mondays in department D-106 at Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse. The court does not meet on the fifth Monday of the month.
Attorneys appear at 9:00 A.M., candidates appear at 10:00 A.M.
Misdemeanors:
To refer your client, request a date in Misdemeanor Treatment Court on the first and third Thursdays of the month in department D-114 at Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse.
Attorneys appear at 1:00 P.M., candidates appear at 2:00 P.M.
Eligibility
- The legal team will determine whether the client meets the legal eligibility criteria.
- The case management team will determine whether the client meets the clinical eligibility criteria.
Requirements
- Participants will attend court sessions, test for drug and alcohol use, complete a treatment program, and complete a mental health plan.
- Misdemeanor court is a 6-month program.
- The length of felony court is determined by the judge.
