Family Law Courts hear cases involving dissolution of marriage, nullity, legal separation and paternity, including related issues of spousal support, child support and custody and community property at the following Superior Court locations. Some examples of hearings heard in theses departments are Motions; Order to show cause (domestic violence and other petitions); settlement conferences; trials; District Attorney support enforcement calendar.

Child Custody Mediation Services is a division of the Alameda County Superior Court which provides mediation of child custody and visitation issues as mandated by CA Family Code Sections 3160-3186. Clients with court date who have not yet resolved their child custody issues are ordered by court to meet with an FCS mediator prior to their Court date.
