Temporary Judge Program

Applications for Volunteer Court-Appointed Temporary Judges (Judges Pro Tem)

The Superior Court of Alameda County continually accepts applications from interested attorneys who wish to serve as a Volunteer Court-Appointed Temporary Judge (Judge Pro Tem) pursuant to rule 2.810, et seq. of the California Rules of Court in the following case types: Civil (Small Claims; Unlawful Detainers; Civil Harassment and Workplace/Postsecondary School Violence); Probate; Family; Juvenile and Traffic. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and reviewed annually, typically in the fall of each year for appointments in the coming year.       

Applicants must meet and maintain the requirements set forth in rule 2.812 of the California Rules of Court.
