Owner's Responsibility Citations

  1. I Received a Fix-it Ticket for my Company's Vehicle. How Can I Get the Ticket Placed in my Company's Name?

If your company is willing to accept responsibility for the fix it ticket, they can notify the court and request a transfer of responsibility. This request should be made in writing on company letterhead stationary and signed by an authorized representative of the company. This request will be submitted to the Commissioner and upon approval will be granted. (This is usually done on mechanical violations not moving violations).

  2. Who is Responsible to Take Care of the Ticket?

As the driver of the vehicle and the person who signed the citation, you are responsible for appearing on the matter or ensuring that the owner of the vehicle fixes the violation, has it signed off and shows proof of correction to the court by the due date. The charge(s) may be dismissed without the need for a court date with proof of correction and the payment of a required $10.00 dismissal fee to the clerk's office.
