    The Family Court is a division of the Alameda County Superior Court. We have prepared the information on this web site to answer common questions about family law procedures. The Court provides limited services in family law matters through two internal organizations:

  2. Introduction to Family Court

    Orientation to the buildings:

    Rene C. Davidson Courthouse (RCD):
    Departments 4, 5, 20, 21 and 24.

    Departments 4 and 5 are located on the Third Floor of the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse (RCD). Security, telephones.

    Departments 20, 21 and 24 are located on the Fourth Floor of the Administration Building (1221 Oak Street) Across the Street from (RCD) Courthouse. Security, telephones.

    Hayward Hall of Justice (HHJ):
    Departments 507, 508, 511 and 514.

    Departments 507, 508 and 511 are located on the Second Floor. Security, telephones, copy machines.

    Department 514 is located on the Third Floor. Security, telephones, and copy machine.

    Fremont Hall of Justice (FHJ):

    Department 604 is located on the Second Floor. Security, telephones.

    Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice (GSHJ):

    Department 707 located on the Second Floor. Security, telephones.

    George E. McDonald Hall of Justice (GMHJ):

    Department 303, located on the second floor. Security, telephones.

    Berkeley Courthouse:

    Department 203 located on the second floor. Security, telephones.

    The Family Law Divisions of the Alameda County Superior Court are located as follows:

    The Family Law Division for Rene C. Davidson Courthouse, at 1225 Fallon Street, Second Floor, Room (250) Oakland, CA (510-208-4935)
    The records section is located in Room 109 on the First Floor.

    The Family Law Division for Hayward Hall of Justice, at 24405 Amador Street, First Floor, Room 104, Hayward, CA 94544. (510-670-6432)
    The records section is located in room 108 on the First Floor.

    The Family Law Division for Fremont Hall of Justice, First Floor, Room 100 39439 Paseo Padre Pkway., Fremont, CA 94538. (510-795-2329)

  4. Service Hours:

    All Family Law Court buildings are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

    To schedule Child Custody Mediation or Family Court Orientation: (See Attached Section for Families & Children’s Bureau)

    To File your Completed Court Papers, Read your Court File and Schedule your Court Hearings:

    Rene C. Davidson Court House: Go to Room 250 on the Second Floor. Note: To read your court file for the RCD Court House, go to Room 109 on the First Floor.

    Hayward Hall of Justice: Go to room 104 on the First Floor.

    Fremont Hall of Justice: Go to room 100 on the First Floor.

    Gale-Schenone Court House: Go to the First floor.

    George E. McDonald Court House: Go to the First Floor.

    Berkeley Courthouse: Go to Room 202 on the First Floor.

    Please remember to bring copies of papers to be filed because the Clerk must charge .75 cents per page.
