Criminal Court Self Help - Property Bond Procedures
One way that a defendant may meet bail requirements set by the court is by posting a property bond. This type of bond requires a person to pledge the value of real property to the court to guarantee the appearance of the defendant in court. (If the defendant fails to appear in court at any scheduled time, the court takes the posted property just as if it were cash bail.) To determine whether the court will accept the offered property as a defendant's bail, it must hold a hearing to determine the value and legal title to the property. For more information, contact the court location where the case is filed.
