What Happens After Your Trial

  1. How to appeal your judgment:

    If you think it is worth your time and effort, you may be able to appeal the final judgment, or an order. You should ask a lawyer for help.

    In appeals other than small claims appeals, you do not have to present your case all over again. The appellate court will only look at the mistakes the trial court may have made. The appeals court has to say that the mistakes changed how the case turned out. The court will not look at the facts again. It’ wil just look at the trial record.
